Format Debat Parlemen Inggris untuk Mengenalkan Isu Kontemporer: Studi Kasus Kompetisi Debat Mahasiswa Indonesia 2021

Kompetisi Debat Mahasiswa Indonesia (KDMI) mengadopsi sistem Parlemen Inggris sejak tahun 2021. Artikel ini mengkaji mosi sebagai komunitas Asia, Dewan ini tidak akan mendukung gerakan pro minoritas lainnya seperti Black Lives Matter, gerakan Feminist, gerakan Chicano/Latino yang diangkat pada babak perempat final KDMI 2021. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis debat di dua ruang yang berbeda, yang berlangsung pada babak perempat final KDMI 2021. Argumen yang digunakan akan dibandingkan dengan temuan dalam artikel terkait. Data berasal dari transkrip video perempat final KDMI 2021. Model Toulmin digunakan dalam analisis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tiap ruang mempunyai variasi isu yang diangkat, namun terdapat tiga isu yang memiliki kemiripan. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh, model juri sebagai warga yang sadar akan hak pilihnya tidak serta merta menghilangkan subjektivitas dalam penilaian. Dengan membandingkan argumen dalam debat dengan konsep terkait dalam penelitian sebelumnya, sulit menentukan apa saja yang harus diketahui dan tidak diketahui seorang juri.
