Preliminary observations indicated that students' learning outcomes were still low, with an average score of 66.35 and a learning mastery rate of 42.30 percent. This condition is attributed to monotonous teaching methods and the absence of interactive media that align with students' characteristics. The purpose of this study is to enhance students' mathematics learning outcomes by utilizing iSpring Suite version 11 media combined with the use of physical angle clocks as learning aids. The research employed a classroom action research design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which was implemented over two cycles within a four-week period. Each cycle comprised the stages of planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The participants in this study consisted of 26 students from class V B. Data collection techniques included observation, learning outcome tests, and documentation. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive and quantitative methods. The success criteria were defined as a minimum of 85 percent of students achieving scores above the Minimum Mastery Standard of 75. The results demonstrated a progressive increase in student learning outcomes across cycles. In the first cycle, the average score reached 75 with a learning mastery rate of 61.53 percent. In the second cycle, the average score increased to 88.08 with a learning mastery rate of 84.61 percent. These findings indicate that the application of iSpring Suite version 11 media supported by physical angle clocks is effective in improving mathematics learning outcomes.
Farida Nur Kumala, Muhammad Sulthon Mukhlis, Sulistyoningsih Sulistyoningsih Copyright (c) 2025 Melior : Jurnal Riset Pendidikan dan Pembelajaran Indonesia https://journal.actual-insight.com/index.php/melior/article/view/3273 Sat, 05 Jul 2025 00:00:00 +0000 The Role of Parents in Supporting Student Motivation and Discipline at Muhammadiyah Maumere Senior High School https://journal.actual-insight.com/index.php/melior/article/view/3469
Students' academic success is not only determined by the role of teachers and educational institutions, but also by the active contribution of parents. This research aims to find out the role of parents in supporting the motivation and discipline of students at Muhammadiyah Maumere Senior High School. This research uses a case study method using a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques using interviews and observations. The research subjects were parents and students. Then the data were analyzed using thematic analysis techniques, consisting of several stages, namely: (1) transcription of interview results, (2) open coding to find important meanings, (3) grouping codes into thematic categories, and (4) interpretation of themes relevant to the research objectives. The results of this study show that the role of parents in the form of emotional support, learning assistance, and supervision of academic activities at home has a positive effect on students' motivation and responsibility for learning. This research highlights the importance of collaboration between families and schools in creating a conducive learning environment. The findings are expected to serve as a basis for policy development and school programming that prioritizes active parental participation in the education process. This research opens up opportunities for exploration of the forms of family involvement in Indonesia's diverse social and cultural contexts.
Salmawaty Salmawaty, Vinsensius Herianto Ndori, Nurul Adna Pratiwi, Ifa Sutari Copyright (c) 2025 Melior : Jurnal Riset Pendidikan dan Pembelajaran Indonesia https://journal.actual-insight.com/index.php/melior/article/view/3469 Tue, 16 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Self-Efficacy, Numerical Literacy, and Problem-Solving Skills in Statistics: A Quantitative Study in Jayapura https://journal.actual-insight.com/index.php/melior/article/view/3662
Problem-solving skills in statistics are crucial for development economics students as a foundation for analytical thinking and evidence-based decision-making. This study analyzes students’ problem-solving abilities and examines the influence of two internal factors: self-efficacy and numerical literacy. Using a descriptive quantitative approach with inferential analysis through SEM-PLS assisted by SmartPLS 4, data were collected from 200 purposively selected students in the third to fifth semesters. Instruments included a problem-solving test based on Pólya’s four-step model, a Likert-scale questionnaire, and limited interviews to complement the findings. Results show that self-efficacy (β = 0.244; p < 0.01) and numerical literacy (β = 0.186; p < 0.05) significantly influence problem-solving skills, while the R² value (0.119) indicates that other factors also play a role. These results align with Bandura’s (1997) Social Cognitive Theory, emphasizing that belief systems affect effort and cognitive performance. This study integrates affective (self-efficacy) and cognitive (numerical literacy) factors in one analytical framework, which remains underexplored in Development Economics education. The novelty lies in mapping both psychological and cognitive predictors of problem-solving simultaneously. Practically, the study recommends contextual, problem-based learning, the integration of statistical software (SPSS, Stata, R), and strategies to enhance students’ academic confidence. Overall, the findings contribute to improving statistical education aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4 – Quality Education and SDG 8 – Inclusive Economic Growth) and strengthening students’ readiness for digital transformation and data-driven policy environments
Eka Pravitasari Putri Copyright (c) 2025 Melior : Jurnal Riset Pendidikan dan Pembelajaran Indonesia https://journal.actual-insight.com/index.php/melior/article/view/3662 Tue, 16 Dec 2025 00:00:00 +0000
