Ketidakadilan sosial di Indonesia masih menjadi persoalan struktural yang ditandai oleh kemiskinan, ketimpangan distribusi pendapatan, serta keterbatasan akses kelompok marginal terhadap pendidikan, kesehatan, dan pekerjaan layak. Dalam konteks ini, gereja sebagai komunitas iman memiliki tanggung jawab teologis dan sosial untuk menghadirkan nilai keadilan serta pembelaan bagi kaum tertindas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bentuk kehadiran gereja, menafsirkan makna teologis keterlibatannya, dan mengevaluasi efektivitas perannya dalam merespons ketidakadilan sosial. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi pustaka dengan analisis deskriptif-kritis terhadap literatur teologi sosial, dokumen gerejawi, dan data sosial kemasyarakatan di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian gereja masih menekankan pelayanan diakonia karitatif yang bersifat jangka pendek. Namun, sejumlah gereja mulai mengembangkan pelayanan transformatif melalui pemberdayaan ekonomi, advokasi sosial, dan pendidikan berbasis keadilan. Kehadiran gereja yang efektif ditandai oleh integrasi spiritualitas, aksi sosial, dan komitmen profetis terhadap perubahan struktur yang tidak adil, sehingga diperlukan pergeseran paradigma menuju praksis gereja yang kontekstual dan transformatif.
